       This cookbook began with the five of us realized we enjoyed each other's company so much we would take turns hosting a monthly dinner in our homes. From our very first cooking event in September of 1987, we saved the recipes and the menu. What began as a monthly "girls' night out" in Lubbock, Texas, has blossomed into a major cooking, traveling, and sharing extravaganza that takes place ritualistically in Lubbock and also in Fort Worth, Texas, where Debbie and Jan now live, as well as other places on spring trips and fall retreats.
