When tested Berkey water filter elements removed 100% of pathogens, allowing them to be classified as purifiers rather than simply filters. Each (1) Berkey purification element has a lifespan of 3,000 gallons. That as an incredible 12,000 gallons for a four-filter system. This is possible because of the Berkey purification element's unique ability to be cleaned up to 100 times using a 3M Scotch-Brite pad.The Crown Berkey is constructed from High Grade 304 Stainless Steel, and can accommodate up to eight Berkey Purification elements, however only four are included with this package.
