The Big Berkey is the top selling water filter model, capable of supplying water for 4-16 people. This model includes 4 filters and gives you to the option to use all 4 filters at once or only 2, and save the other 2 for future use. Using 4 or 2 filters at a time will provide the same quality of water, however the water will filter faster with 4 filters. Running with 4 filters you can purify up to 7 gallons of water an hour and with 2 filters, 3.5 gallons of water can be purified per hour. The included Berkey water view spigot makes it easy to determine exactly how much water is in the system and at a glance how much to add without over filling the lower container. The Big Berkey requires no water pressure or electricity to produce purified drinking water from most sources including rivers, lakes and streams. Each cleanable Black Berkey filter will produce 3,000 gallons of filtered drinking water before needing replaced. That's 12,000 gallons, using all 4 filters at once.
