Cast Square

One of the more challenging Hanayama cast metal brain teasers is SQUARE.  It is rarted as a level 6 on a scale of one to six.     Four beautifully colored pieces join together to form a square with rounded edges and corners.


According to the manufacturer; "Each time the arrangement of pieces is changed when re-creating the original shape, the solution changes.  Are you up to solving the riddle of the Square ?"   The theme of the puzzle is "Orientation".  Created by Finland's Timonen.

All Hanayama puzzles require clever movements and positioning.  NO FORCE is ever required.   Recommended for ages 12 to 105 years.  A few bright 7 to 11 year olds may also enjoy.  Keep away for anyone who thinks (or doesn't think) that forcing will solve the Puzzle !!!! 

SQUARE is part of a series of 45 plus very interesting and mentally provocative metal brain teasers from the Hanayama Puzzle Company of Japan. Some serious puzzlers refer to these as "disentanglement-style puzzles" as they involve taking something apart and then re-assembling. Re-assembly can also be a puzzle and may be equally as tricky.
