Race And Juvenile Justice

Dr. Everette B. Penn is Assistant Professor of Criminology at the University of Houston at Clear Lake. He received his Ph.D. in criminology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Previously he served as Masterms Coordinator at Prairie View A&M University and was a founding faculty member of the Universityms Ph.D. program in Juvenile Justice. He has also served as a Corporation for National Service Fellow and as an elected/appointed director of several national and local organizations. Dr. Penn was recently recognized as a Fulbright Scholar to Egypt, where he taught criminology and juvenile justice. He is the author of several publications on juvenile justice, criminal justice pedagogy, and race issues in criminal justice. Dr. Helen Taylor Greene is Professor of Administration of Justice in the Barbara Jordan-Mickey Leland School of Public Affairs at Texas Southern University. She completed her Ph.D. in criminology at the University of Maryland, College Park. Her research interests include Black issues in the justice system such as policing and juvenile delinquency. She has published numerous articles on integrating Black perspectives into the criminology and criminal justice body of knowledge. Dr. Shaun L. Gabbidon is Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Criminal Justice Programs in the School of Public Affairs at Pennsylvania State University, Capital College. He received his Ph.D. in criminology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He has served as a summer fellow at Harvard Universityms W.E.B. DuBois Institute for Afro-American Research and has published numerous works on race and justice issues. In the fall of 2001, he became the inaugural editor of the Southern Illinois University Press Series, Contemporary Studies in Crime and Justice.
