Rebel's Revenge

The author s great grandfather served under General Stonewall Jackson in the Civil War. Rebels stole General Pope s frock coat from his camp tent located five miles from her son s home. She has tremendous zeal for preserving the history of her beloved South Branch Valley. Her family farm is surrounded by places embedded with history of this story. She is a retired librarian who enjoys reading and probing into local history. Many homes in this story remain standing. Some are open for the Hardy County Public Library annual Heritage Weekend Tour.
