The earrings come in the cassette which consists of two sterile compartments. Each compartment holds individually sealed earring cartridge which contains the sterile earring and the patented Safety ClutchTM. Also includes two hygienic cleansing towelettes to cleanse the ears prior to piercing. The patented Inverness instrument is to be used for piercing. The instrument is sold separately. It is designed for use with easy loading cartridges that will not fall out even if the instrument is inverted. It has a push button cartridge eject system so you will never touch used cartridges. The Inverness 2000 delivers a quick, safe and sterile ear piercing and automatically attaches the patented Safety ClutchTM.
Unlike Inverness, many ear piercing systems pierce ears with earring metals that may have very high Nickel content. A rising trend of metal allergies from various types of earrings with high Nickel content has been noted. Many people have reported feeling discomfort after wearing earrings for a short period of time. Nickel content in metals has been identified as the most common cause. Inverness demands the highest quality of materials. All Inverness earring metals for sensitive ears have an extremely low Nickel content (less than .05%). Even average surgical grade stainless steel contains between 8 and 12% Nickel.
About Inverness metals:
14kt and 18kt Yellow and White Gold have a very low Nickel content - less than .05%, which meets and exceeds all current Nickel content directives and laws.
Palladium Plate line utilizes the Inverness trademarked alloy - SteralloyTM, which provides the wearer with the look of Sterling Silver without the Nickel content of Stainless Steel.
24kt Gold Plate line also utilizes SteralloyTM as the base metal for user comfort and safety and is plated with 24kt Gold.
Titanium earrings are made using ASTM F136 Titanium Alloy for surgical implants.
