The Golden Bough is a comparative study of religion and mythology of huge importance written by the scotch anthropologist James George Frazer (1854-1941). It was first published in 1890 in two volumes, its second version (1907-1915) increased to twelve volumes and in 1922 it was synthesized by the author in one book which is the most popular version. This book is a totally new edition of the classic work which follows the one by Robert Frasier for the Oxford University press published in 1994. This edition is a tribute to the classic by Frazer with a new introduction, notes, and includes new passages that were censored in the first abridgement of the monumental work.
