Dries the oozing and weeping of poison ivy, poison oak, and poison sumac. This skin cream contains calamine and zinc oxide. Together, these ingredients work to relieve itching and sooth minor skin irritations. They work by producing a counter-irritant effect. That is, after you apply the cream, the calamine evaporates. This produces a cooling effect on the skin and which distracts from the itch. This sensation also helps to relieve the pain of sunburn. Zinc oxide also contains antiseptic properties that reduce the chance of infection from scratching the affected skin area. This skin cream also contains Diphenhydramine HCI, which helps to relieve skin irritation.
