Jackie Robinson Presents Strip & Slash (2009)

STRIP & SLASH - Let's take a split nine patch block and make it with a unique construction technique that allows the use of ALL your favorite fabrics, as well as some not so favorites that will make it absolutely sparkle! A great stash busting project, this block has a lovely diagonal, so the blocks can be laid out in literally hundreds of overall patterns. And, we won't make any half square triangles even though we'll 'get' them - for free!

This workshop is Jackie's most popular of all she offers. We'll use short strip sets and establish an accurate seam allowance to make a terrific variety of blocks. Beginning with our lights and darks totally separated, though each containing several 'mediums', we'll throw caution to the wind and let them mingle carelessly to achieve a total scrappy result. Such fun -- even for all of us Type A quilters.

For those who prefer to 'control' their scrappy attempts, Jackie will show how, and also share some great 'Controlled Scrap' quilts.

Jackie will show an outstanding method of putting the blocks together that guarantees an always beautifully flat quilt top with perfectly matched corners.

We'll close with a demo of successful mitered corners on the binding.
