    Janice Thomas' Panforte is created with passion in small batches at the Savory Spoon Cooking School in Door County, WI. Janice started Savory spoon in 2004 and also hosts culinary and cultural trips to Italy, France and China. After visiting Siena, Italy she fell in love with the delectable taste of Panforte, the famous confection created in Italy in the 15th century. Janice handcrafts her Panforte with high quality hand-selected fruits and nuts. She combines apricots, figs, Seville orange peel, Door County dried cherries, Oregon hazelnuts, California almonds, local honey, Wisconsin creamery butter, cane sugar and a hint of flour. Janice and her team create culinary magic in the Savory Spoon kitchen by adding the perfect balance of spices and baked to the perfect texture. They taste every batch to confirm it is up to their strict standards...and because they love it! One taste...and you will experience why it is a winner and a bit addictive.
